Lady Gaga and Metallica set to collaborate for a special Grammys performance

Fresh off her soaring performance at the Super Bowl, Lady Gaga was added Tuesday to the list of artists who will take the stage at Sunday's Grammy Awards in downtown Los Angeles.

Singer Lady Gaga performs during the halftime show of the NFL Super Bowl 51 football game between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons, Sunday, Feb. 5, in Houston. Joanne debuted after the Recording Academy's September 30 deadline for 2017 Grammy submissions, though it is eligible to receive nominations at next year's show. The Bad Romance singer was last seen at the Grammys stage in 2016 where she paid a tribute to David Bowie.

Details on what they will be performing are unclear, but the pairing is sure to make for one of the night's most anticipated performances.

The news was rumoured after a fan site posted a clip (below), but Rolling Stone later confirmed it was true. Gaga will be joining a famous line-up of performers like Katy Perry, Kelsea Ballerini, John Legend, Carrie Underwood, Bruno Mars, Kieth Urban, Adele, and Beyoncé.

In October, Gaga's fifth studio set, Joanne, became her fourth LP to reach the No. 1 position on the Billboard 200, moving 201,000 album equivalent units across its first week of release. But Metallica is nominated under the Best Rock Song category for the song, Hardwired.

Gaga will go out in support of her latest album, Joanne.

The 2017 Grammys, hosted by James Corden at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, will air February 12 on CBS and CBS All Access.
