IPL 2017 player auction to go live on Sony Six

England all-rounders Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes have been given the go-ahead by the England and Wales Cricket Board to represent their respective Indian Premier League franchises for the entire duration of the tournament, ESPNCricinfo reported on Tuesday.

Australian captain Steve Smith, who is all set to be announced as the next Rising Pune Super Giant captain, after the IPL franchisee removed MS Dhoni as the skipper, welcomed the England star all-rounder Ben Stokes to the team.

After Englishman Ben Stokes recorded the highest price in IPL history for an overseas player at $A2.82 million, Johnson was unable to attract anywhere near the same attention. I was anxious, not really knowing what would happen. I had missed some of the batters get sold but saw Stokesy go for big money - that was awesome.

"Once he figured out the carnage (as he called it) of mentions and retweets, he had to figure out how much a crore means". I still haven't seen the footage. It's also seven times his base amount.

"I hope I'll live up to it, win a few games and deliver on what they've paid for me", said Stokes.

He is finding it hard to put in words and express himself on being signed for such a life changing amount.

"I'm really pleased now that it's sorted and it's started to sink in". But I think they want a lot from Stokes as a bowler otherwise they would struggle again because their bowling seems odd.

Vice versa for those who probably go to bed worrying if they'll get picked in the first place.

The tenth edition of IPL Twenty20 cricket league is to begin from April 5.

The England global player went for a whopping Rs 14.5 crore and surpassed Shane Watson's mark of Rs 9.5 crore in last year' auctions. A number of other players also did not find any team which includes the likes of Irfan Pathan, Ishant Sharma, Kyle Abbott, RP Singh, Brad Haddin and many others.

"It's been an incredible and interesting few days".

Stokes was touted as the hottest property at Monday's glitzy auction in Bangalore, and so it turned out. The highest fee ever paid for a foreign player.

"I can't believe it. It will for me", said Mills. "I did not see this coming and it took a while for it to sink in. It has been a insane day".

"So when my name came up I was nervous, giddy and jumpy". I was on Facetime with my best mate and he just kept shouting. I've been talking about it with Neil Fairbrother for the last three years or so - I really trust his opinion - and we felt this was the time to go for it.
