Free Agents Campbell, Jefferson Find Homes

Doyle BarkerMar 11, 2017

"We wanted to fill gaps through free agency and we feel we've done that".

"Chose #Jags because Tom Coughlin is a victor, they brought in two other big free agents and they also have been drafting well the last few years", Campbell told ESPN via text message.

According to ESPN's Dianna Russini, Campbell is expected to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The deal was going to be a reported $14 million per season.

Caldwell said that by having both Bouye and Ramsey, opposing teams will have to pick their poison and it will also give their pass rush more time to get to the quarterback.

Terms of Jefferson's deal have not been leaked, but multiple reports earlier in the week suggested Jefferson could earn upward of $10 million per season on the free agent market.

After making the Pro Bowl in consecutive seasons, Campbell, whose eight sacks tied for the second most of his career and were the most since the nine he had in 2013, was chosen as an alternate following the 2016 campaign.

Jacksonville was one of the more aggressive teams as National Football League free agency began, landing two of the biggest defensive prizes. Earlier this week, the Cardinals re-signed tight end Jermaine Gresham to a four-year contract extension and now are reportedly in serious talks with pass rusher Chandler Jones on finalizing a five-year contract. Contracts can not be completed until 4 p.m. ET on Thursday when the new league year begins.
