Police haven't provided details about what exactly happened on March 19 when, they said, five or six males participated in sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl after she was lured inside a residence by one of the suspects.

The 14-year-old boy is accused of telling the victim she could "have sex the easy way or the hard way", according to the Associated Press.

Appearing in court for the first time, the eighth-grader is charged with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, three counts of manufacturing child pornography and three counts of dissemination.

Police continue to search for others involved in the attack, which took place in the Lawndale neighborhood.

Gardner said while the boy may not have had intercourse, the charges were appropriate because he was there and videotaped another person raping the girl.

Gardner said that both boys, identified from stills of the video, admitted to others that they had sexually assaulted the girl.

It is believed that five or six individuals took part in the terrible attack against the teen girl; however, investigators have declined to comment on how many individuals they are still looking for.

The boys threatened to have a pit bull attack the girl if she tried to get away, Gardner said. The suspect turned himself in to the 10th District police station accompanied by his mother, and is being questioned before being taken to juvenile detention according to Guglielmi.

The 14-year-old then held her down and raped her, Gardner said.

Police have said that a half dozen men assaulted the girl in March as they streamed it on Facebook Live.

"The victim knew one of the offenders", Chicago Police Cmdr.

Guglielmi said Johnson was "visibly upset" after he watched, both by the video's content and the fact that there were "40 or so live viewers and no one thought to call authorities". The department contacted Facebook to take down the video, which it did.

"They've humiliated themselves, humiliated their families, and now they're going to be held accountable for what they did", Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said. The high school freshman had gone to the store and her mother became concerned when she did not return. And police said the bullying hasn't risen to the level of criminal conduct.
