Sanchez transfer talk is disrespectful to both Arsenal and Chelsea, says Conte

The ex-Barcelona and Udinese forward has flourished where most of his teammates have disappointed this season, scoring 18 Premier League goals and assisting ten times.

Arsene Wenger has been left mystified by Arsenal fans' concerns over the future of Alexis Sanchez. The pair have each refused to sign long-term contract extensions, with Wenger saying two weeks ago that discussions are on hold until the summer.

Arsene Wenger has voiced his dismay with the ongoing debate over Alexis Sanchez's future at Arsenal amid speculation linking the Chile global with a move to Chelsea.

If the Chile global can not be convinced to extend, Merson does not think Chelsea's status as a rival club would stop Arsene Wenger from selling, given he would be desperate to avoid losing him for nothing the following year.

And Merson considers Sanchez's coming at Stamford Bridge would give Chelsea an impressive replacement if Eden Hazard comes to Real Madrid, as reports in Spain have indicated is a chance. So I do not understand this kind of anxiety one-and-a-half-years before the end of contracts. I don't sees what suddenly all that debate is about.

The Chilean's intense desire to win and be the best is what makes him such a good player for Arsenal but it's also what may drive him into the arms of the Champions elect.

Telegraph Sport reported earlier this week that Sanchez has put Chelsea at the top of the list of clubs he wants to join and is keen on the prospect of move across London.

"I don't think Arsenal will finish in the top four and if they don't finish in the top four then I don't see him staying". "It's bad how Arsenal can let a player of that talent run the years down on his contract".

The duo have begun negotiations with the player's camp but formal talks between clubs are likely to commence after the season ends.

Wenger has previously allowed Robin van Persie, Samir Nasri, Bacary Sagna and others to swap North London for Arsenal's title rivals.
