The rapper was pulled over by cops at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in Hollywood because he was driving a Mercedes G Wagon with paper plates, LAPD told the Daily News. After Tyga spent about 90 minutes at the station, he was cleared and released with a traffic ticket.

Rapper Tyga was detained by police on Tuesday after being pulled over following a night out in Hollywood.

But he was actually stopped because he ran a stop sign and he didn't have proper license plates on his new vehicle - which he flaunted on Instagram earlier that day, E!

The rapper - real name Micheal Ray Stevenson - was flagged down by LAPD officer for allegedly driving with no license plates.

It's being reported, however, that the rapper was actually taken to the station for a possible DUI, but upon arrival, realized he was not under the influence. Now, ordinarily failing to stop at stop sign wouldn't result in an arrest HOWEVER, Tyga did NOT have license plate on his Mercedes.

Of course, the rapper was filmed while being arrested, video which showed Tyga saying that he had just bought the vehicle.
