She says Elizabeth is in a mental health facility where she is being treated, so she spends a lot of time with a therapist while visitation with family & friends is limited.

The family's attorney added, "The family prays and hopes that she can get beyond that and have a very successful life, but he has made that very hard", Jason Whatley said. The two have reportedly been separated since November 9, 2015, when the divorce papers indicate Kimberly Thomas was ordered to have no contact with the children due to her allegedly committing several acts of physical abuse against them.

"And they supposedly stayed down by the river, but I don't know the exact number of days, but supposedly, the information we got", said Siskiyou County Sheriff Jon Lopey.

Authorities credit the caretaker of a remote northern California property for helping police find her and arrest her alleged abductor, fired teacher Tad Cummins.

The charge carries a statutory mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and up to life in prison.

The former Tennessee teacher accused of taking his 15-year-old student across the country had plans to flee with her to Mexico and beyond, prosecutors claim in federal court documents. There was not availability to food all the time, is the understanding. Quinn, who has spoken to him three times since his arrest last week, said her brother told her he wanted the teen to be safe. "You're speechless", Bozeman said.

A United States Attorney has filed a motion to hold Tad Cummins in Middle Tennessee before his trial. "She's just so happy to get food and coffee and showering".

He also faces state charges of sexual contact with a minor and aggravated kidnapping, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said last month.

Cummins vanished from Columbia, Tennessee with the teenage girl on March 13.

Cummins and Elizabeth were found on April 20 at a remote cabin in northern California near the OR border after over a month on the run.

The pair's disappearance generated more than 1,500 tips, a sighting in Oklahoma City and Amber alerts in Tennessee and Alabama.

When he was captured, Cummins, 50, told deputies, "I'm glad this is over".

Before disappearing, Cummins was investigated by the school system when another student reported seeing the then-married teacher kiss the girl at the Culleoka Unit School.
