Taco Bell to serve beer starting this summer

Would you like a beer with that Chalupa Supreme?

Taco Bell, the Yum Brands Mexican quick-service chain, said Thursday that it will start taking reservations for the Taco Bell Test Kitchen via OpenTable. It will also feature twists on Taco Bell favorites, which we hope include something super glamorous like deconstructed nachos you can dip into a giant fire sauce fountain. The dinner is free for whoever manages to snag a reservation, though you'll have to pay your own way to get there.

Reservations open, appropriately, on Cinco de Mayo and the dinner will be held on May 19. What's less common is doing the same for Taco Bell. Attendees must be 21 or older to make reservations. Taco Bell has over 250 locations overseas and says it plans to add 2,000 more restaurants internationally within the next decade. They now operate 170 Canadian restaurants in more than seven provinces. Those unable to secure a reservation will be able to add their names to a waitlist and be the first to know about future Test Kitchen by Taco Bell experiences. "We can't wait for our fans to see it". The new Taco Bell stores provide increased transparency into how food is prepared, while also simplifying and modernizing the restaurant experience. Taco Bell is known for pushing the boundaries when it comes to its menu offerings and for creating Frankenstein food items like its Beefy 5-Layer Burrito and Quesarito - even going so far as to create new taco shells using Doritos and fried chicken. Think of it like the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" of all Taco Bell experiences: stay tuned for the "golden ticket".
