8 injured, gunman dead in San Diego pool shooting

Another person was injured in the incident broke his arm while fleeing the gunfire, police said.

Six of the victims are African-American, another victim is Latino, according to SDPD chief Shelley Zimmerman. Police are investigating the motive for the shooting.

Prior to the shooting, a large group of people were celebrating a birthday at the pool, according to police.

"Then we saw literally the people jumping out from the pool. and running like insane", another witness told NBC 7. The suspect's condition was unknown. San Diego police launched a re-unification center at the northwest corner of Judicial Drive and Golden Haven.
