OnePlus 5 Specs Revealed In New Alleged Leak

Melba UnderwoodMay 04, 2017

Before the impending debut of the OnePlus 5 we have started seeing a healthy influx of some leaks, rumors and images of the device.

OnePlus has always been rumoured to be working on their 2017 flagship, dubbed OnePlus 5. The user says previous OnePlus 5 rumors that said the phone will have a vertical dual lens camera are false. The leakers says that the OnePlus 5 will indeed have a dual-camera setup, but it will be placed horizontally on the handset similar to how the cameras are placed on the Apple iPhone 7 Plus.

Tech gossip hounds in South Korea claimed earlier this year that the OnePlus 5 (there won't be a OnePlus 4, as 4 is seen as unlucky in China), will come with a curved screen, massive 23 megapixel camera, 4000 mAh battery and as much as 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage. However, Kumamoto Technology claims that the OnePlus 5 won't have an all-screen design or an edge-to-edge display because the fingerprint sensor will still be located up front. Some have speculated that the upcoming flagship will feature whopping 8GB RAM, while others believe that OnePlus will be sticking with 6GB. So far, we've heard a lot about the upcoming flagship from OnePlus.

It is not going to be too long before we can get an idea on that. However, the leak also reveals that the latest flagship device is expected to come with 25 percent improvement in the charging speed as compared to its predecessor.

Lastly, the Weibo leaker can't confirm if the OnePlus 5 will have a 3.5mm headphone jack. This year the OnePlus 5 is expected in May.

OnePlus' CEO Pete Lau has posted a picture on his Chinese Weibo account that confirms a new OnePlus smartphone is on the way. Previous OnePlus phones have been launched in June, so that's our best guess right now.
